    NEWTON, Mass. -- Mount Ida senior linebacker Josh David (Sandown, N.H.) was named Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) defensive player of the week following his 18-tackle performance in the win over Dean College. A defensive captain, David has filled the stat-sheet all season, but this weekend made his mark on the record books with the most tackles of his career and tying the all-time Mustang record of 18.

    FRANKLIN, Mass. -- In a contest that saw almost every statistical category point in favor of Dean College, it was Mount Ida who escaped with a 14-7 win in Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) action on Saturday afternoon at Lippert Field. The Mustangs struggled to move the ball consistently on the afternoon, but were able to capitalize in key situations throughout the contest. Mount Ida moved to 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in ECFC competition, while Dean falls for 3-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

In a back-and-forth affair that saw over 800 yards of total offense combined, Castleton University used two late touchdown runs by Moe Harris to defeat Mount Ida College, 35-31, Saturday afternoon in an Eastern Collegiate Football Conference contest at Spartan Stadium. The Mustangs fall to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in ECFC play, while the Spartans move to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in conference action.
